Harmony House Art Studio LLC is the studio for the painter, author, and art teacher, Addie Hirschten. Specializing in art classes and retreats in acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media painting. Located in a converted old church in historic Abingdon Virginia, the Harmony House offers workshops designed to help students learn to express themselves and develop their own style, not just copy the instructor. Classes are an experimental mix of therapeutic techniques offered in a nurturing and caring environment.

Harmony House is not just an art classroom but a home where all are welcome. If you join our art community your art will never be judged here. We are here to have fun and grow, not to rate each other. People are drawn to painting because there is something important they are trying to express.

Harmony House Mission Statement:
To share the healing power of the arts in a judgement free environment. To offer informative classes that respect the individual's own development and style.
Cancellation Policy:
Students can cancel registration for classes up to 24 hours in advance of the start of class to receive a full refund or exchange for a class of equal value. After 24 hours before class begins all sales are final.
Group Team Building Sessions
Interested in booking an art workshop for your group? Hirschten regularly hosts team building workshops for private groups, corporate businesses and parties, either at the Harmony House (limit 10 students) or at locations in the Abingdon Va area. All materials are provided. No drugs or alcohol may be consumed during workshops. Popular sessions include Vision Board Collage, Perfume Making, and Abstract Painting Workshops.

The Harmony House Renovations
Our beloved studio was built in 1960 and was formerly the Walsh Chapel Church.
When Hirschten purchased the church in 2025, it needed extensive work. The floor sagged, there was termite damage, and major support beams needed to be replaced.
